We saw a significant increase in CallHub usage over the past few months and we expect to see a lot more usage as we go into the US election season this November. We are also seeing an increased need to keep the data from different geographies within that same geography. To account for this, we are making the following infrastructure changes to CallHub.
We are:
- Increasing the size of our hardware systems by sharding them horizontally.
- Adding faster performing databases (CPU Cores and I/O throughput)
- Auto scaling of servers under load
- Improving performance of our products.
With these changes, we aim to provide the following benefits:
- CallHub service will always be available and work reliably
- Performance of CallHub products will not be impacted under load
- Capability to isolate data and initiate calls from certain geography
Above changes will be made to the product with the help of maintenance windows (majority of them over the weekends) so that infrastructure can improve without impacting your calling or texting sessions. Infrastructure updates will happen over the period of next 5 weeks (Aug 10 – Sept 9); we propose the following time slots and request you to get back to us via email ([email protected]) in case these dates conflict with your plans.
